It has been reported that in the next couple of months the Motoblur social service for Android-based smart phones is to enter in Canada on three devices through Rogers, Telus and Bell.
According to analysts, Motoblur "gets" the Google Android message and lets Motorola to battle with competitor HTC on its own conditions.
It is said that the content delivery service will appear on three Motorola handsets, the Quench from Rogers Communications Inc., the Dext via Telus Corp. and the Backflip through Bell Canada Inc.
At a recent press event in Toronto Rick Gadd, Vice-President of mobile devices business for Motorola Canada said that the national Motoblur campaign will begin on May 17.
It runs on top of Google Inc.'s Android mobile OS, collects links, actions and posts from online sources, like social networking sites and Web-based e-mail accounts, into combined channels and information on Motorola devices.
Motoblur is Motorola's "secret sauce," said Gadd. "With Motoblur, we are focused on differentiating the Android experience and delivering a unique experience that is not only different but compelling," he said.
The dates for the launch have not yet been publicized, but the devices are planned to become accessible in the first half of this year.
