Australia’s R18+ Gaming Ratings Not Yet Out

Gamers are waiting for the R18+ rating or waiting games whereas it has been told by South Australia's Attorney General that he might reject any proposed changes to game classification laws.

On May 7, the matter would be up for discussion as told by the Federal Attorney General's department. Around 60,000 submissions were received from the public. The gaming community has been demanding Australia's censorship ministers for years to make adult video games.

It has also been seen that Australia is the only place where the game which is judged not suitable for 15 years old is banned from sale in the market. It can only go on sale if it is modified to MA15+ rating.

Last year around six games were banned from sale and around 70 games have been banned since 1995.

It has been seen that some of the places support the change like Victoria, whereas the previous South Australian attorney general Michael Atkinson refused to allow 18+ games.

"The response to the Australian Christian Lobby was a clarification of the government's position. I have no preconceptions about this issue and intend to listen to the arguments. I can neither support nor wisely argue against a position if I am not aware of all the facts", said Rau who took over the job in South Australia following Atkinson's resignation earlier this year.

If God of War III is released in Australia it would be on a rating of MA15+ but in other countries it would have a R18+ rating.
