Majority Web Users in UK Happy with “Real” Broadband Speeds

A recent survey conducted by ISPreview. co. uk has revealed that a major proportion of UK internet users are contended with the speed of their broadband connection, though not a big majority.

The latest monthly poll involved 957 respondents, surveying them on their level of satisfaction with the 'real world' internet speeds. It revealed that 56 per cent claimed to be happy with the speed of their internet connection, while 44 per cent claimed they were not satisfied with it.

In addition, it posted that broadband internet plans with the data transfer speed of 8 Mbps were highly popular with 8 percent of the respondents opting for them.

A surprising, 11.9 percent did not know their data usage, while 1.8 percent admitted that they were unaware of the 'Advertised' speed of their broadband connection.

ISPreview editor Mark Jackson, quoted, "Part of the problem stems from the fact that existing broadband services are complicated, with speed being negatively impacted by many factors such as the length of your telephone line, electrical interference and poor home wiring".
