Townville Police Conduct to be Scrutinized by Ethical Standard Command Unit

The Townsville police department and its conduct will be looked into, after it was reported that a man landed up in intensive care after the police took charge of him at a medical facility in north Queensland.

It is reported that the Mundingburra man, 27, had voluntarily taken admission in the facility last afternoon. However, he purportedly turned aggressive towards the health staff.

To help restrain the aggressive man the police were called. The man was sedated but he soon stopped breathing. He was taken to the Townville hospital, where he was resuscitated.

The case is being examined by the officers of the Ethical Standard Command unit. The role of the police in the case is being investigated.
