Chrysler and NASA Strike Deal to Develop Innovative Technology

It has been reported that Chrysler and NASA are coming together to develop innovative technology. Both claim that this amalgamation would result in better road cars and rocket ships.

The deal pans out for a period of three years. It is anticipated that the automaker and the space agency will come together to engender and share technologies. The focus of the deal will be on the development of composite materials, wireless technology and battery systems.

It known that batteries are exceedingly vital for Chrylser. The reason for this is the rising trend of electric vehicles and plug-in-hybrids in the automobile industry.

It is notable that the Chrysler-NASA deal ensues after an analogous deal that was struck between Ford and United Space Alliance. The United Space Alliance is a pilot contractor for the space shuttles.

Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President of Chrysler Engineering, evinced, “This is a great opportunity to share knowledge and data in areas where both Chrysler Group and NASA have a vested interest. We value the opportunity to work with NASA and will implement what is learned to further improve our products”.
