It has been reported that President Barack Obama is slated to visit NASA's Florida spaceport. He will be visiting to hold a meeting to make known his vision for the prospect of America's space exploration program.
The meeting will be attended by space experts, scientists and members of Congress. The summit will be held at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The summit will also include presentations by space agency's Chief Charles Bolden and other officials.
Bolden told reporters, "I think I can share that he (Obama) actually plans to have some private moments with the members who will be there for the conference. He then plans to deliver a major space policy speech".
Bolden is hopeful that this speech, will be able to persuade allies and critics of President Obama’s dedication to the space exploration and human spaceflight.
It is known that President Obama's space plan has irked criticism since its launch in February. The President had proposed a $19 billion NASA budget request for 2011. This request is also incorporated pulling out of the agency's Constellation program.
The plan was criticized for not offering a timeline or destination for human spaceflight, and for shifting U. S. manned spacecraft development from NASA to profit-making companies.
