It has been seen lately that hundreds of immigrants had been working as cleaners, caterers and security staff at the hospitals in Britain.

It was told by a Home Office audit that one in ten staff was working with the hospitals using fake documents. It was seen that in London and the South East, ISS Medicean engaged around 1,500 workers out of which around 7.8% or around 120 of them were found working illegally. They were checked by the UK Border Agency.

“This just proves that there is nowhere near enough enforcement on employers who are exploiting illegal immigrants. Only 114 employees have been prosecuted and convicted since 1997, which is a bad joke. If public confidence is to be restored, we need to get tough on businesses employing illegal immigrants”, said Chris Huhne, Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman.

It has also been seen that the company recruits more than 45,000 people in UK. The staff working outside health care is also included in this recruitment.

Around 111 ISS Mediclean employees were fired from the work after the audit. It was told by the London School of economics that the people who were working in Britain illegally could be around 400,000 to 600,000.
