Former Executive Director of AADAC Sentenced

On Friday, former Executive Director of AADAC was condemned for cheating the agency with more than $600,000. The matter is now being investigated.

It has been told by a spokesperson for the NOR-MAN regional health authority in Manitoba the organization was alarmed to hear that Lloyd Carr was going through a court case in Edmonton.

On Thursday morning, Corliss Patterson told the CTV News that this news was shocking for them.

In the court Carr said that he has been working as a painting contractor in Swan River, Manitoba, whereas according to Patterson, he had been working as a youth councilor in Flin Flon for the past 18 months. Patterson refused to comment further before the completion of the investigation.

According to CTV News, Carr asked for a health leave from his job and said that his treatment would start on April 12 whereas on that day he was in the courtroom for his sentencing hearing.

Carr had given two reasons for cheating Alberta's anti addiction agency. He said that one of his supervisors at AADAC had asked him for money to help fund a provincial Tory leadership campaign. Another reason that he mentioned was the gambling addiction.
