Qld Health Works on Improvement of Payroll Problems

It has been said, President of Australian Medical Association's Queensland is worried that doctors might turn their backs on the public system if next week, they are not paid properly.

According to, AMAQ President, Dr. Mason Stevenson, they analyzed about 300 doctors and over 92% had been affected by Queensland Health's payroll mismanagement. Over 66% people's pay problems had continued for more than a month.

QH Director General, Mick Reid said that he is sure that employees who had not been paid or underpaid in the last two pay periods would experience a much-improved system next week.

Queensland Health Director, General Mick Reid, agrees that his job should be on the line over the messed up payroll system.

Mr. Reid stated, "The numbers are going down with people who are coming forward with significant pay issues, and many of the issues we identified in the first pay run have been picked up in the second. Some additional issues have arisen in the second so they're not all fixed".

According to, Mr. Reid, the accountability for the plagued system rested with him.
