Facebook to Change its UK Website for Improved Security

Recently, Facebook publicized that it will alter its UK website to let young clients who face unwanted or suspicious behavior on the website can straight away get in touch with the authorities.

Facebook is planning to revamp its display in order to allow UK users to report persecution and maltreatment directly to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Center.

At present, Facebook has 23 million users in the whole of UK.

Mark Williams-Thomas, an independent child protection expert, stated, "A co-ordinated approach providing the additional reporting to CEOP is clearly worthwhile, social networking sites need to show a commitment to work with both statutory and voluntary organization to promote safety on the internet".

He also said that the statement signifies a substantial step ahead in online security, and that the joint approach shows a lot of potential.

Facebook will also offer security associations with one billion free advertisements on the social networking site, which is worth £5 million.

According to the Associated Press, Facebook recently declared the dropping of the "become a fan" function. It said that the button has been substituted by another with the term "like".
