Voice Test to Predict Parkinson's Disease

Scientists have developed a voice test that could predict Parkinson's disease years earlier in people.

According to the scientists, the disease could only be diagnosed after the symptoms were seen. The symptoms could be the damaging of the brain cells. A new method to predict the disease has been discovered by an Israeli team.

It has been told by a team of researchers from Haifa University that this disease could be predicted from small changes in the speech pattern, unnoticeable to human ear.

It was reported by the British newspaper the Daily Mail that a new program had been developed for the computer which recognized the Parkinson's voice and could be used for the screening of people with hereditary risk of disease.

Because of this disease, the speech is affected because the muscles of the mouth and the neck become weak. In some cases the voice of the patient becomes husky. The symptoms that are seen after diagnosis are rigid muscles, tremors, slow movement, and loss of balance.

The scientists said that the test needed a few sentences from the patient.
