Being Unaware Could Turn Minor Strokes into a Major Problem!

A recent research has come as quite a jolt and something that has managed to definitely scare. A study conducted at the Stroke Prevention Research Unit in the Department of Clinical Neurology at the University of Oxford in the UK has revealed that there are many, many people out there who end up suffering a minor stroke but do not even get to know!

And because they do not get to know that they have suffered a stroke, albeit a pretty small one, they fail to sought the required medical help. This is why it is highly needed that proper education about the condition and its symptoms is given to people everywhere. It does not matter what the age, sex, demographic or socioeconomic status of a person is, he/she should be informed about a problem which is otherwise minor but could turn major if proper care is not taken!

Some of the most common symptoms of a minor stroke are - sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arms or legs, sudden trouble in speaking or understanding, prolonged confusion, dizziness, severe and sudden headache and loss of balance. But then, these are only some of the symptoms and you should undertake a more detailed study on the same.

All the warnings sings of a minor stroke have been detailed at the American Heart Association's official website. If you or anyone around you ever experiences these, or similar, symptoms, please do not think that things will be alright on their own. Seek the required medical help by calling a doctor or placing an emergency 911 call.

In case of a minor stroke, proper medical care has to be administered within three hours, which eliminates the chances of any long term damages.

Keep reading about the condition and keep educating other about it. Fighting with knowledge is the best thing!
