Game publisher and developer Ubisoft declared in a statement on Monday that will cease the manufacture of paper game manuals found in console games. Ubisoft stated that company will not be shipping these manuals in the future console titles on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
In its lieu the, the company will provide an in-game manual that will offer the same information about controls, game credits, and other legal information.
It has been reported that this is analogous to the changes Ubisoft's making in its PC games, since last month.
It has been reported by the company, that the first console title to be bereft of a paper manual will be the Shaun White Skateboarding. This title is slated for release sometime during this holiday season.
According to reports, this reduction in paper will be accompanied by significant changes in packaging, especially in the North American productions of its titles.
It has been reported that the company collaborated with Technimark to engender a 100% recycled DVD case, made of polypropylene.
Ubisoft evinces that first title to be marketed with this fresh packaging will be the PC edition of Tom Clancy's Spinter Cell Conviction. This is slated to be released in the coming week.
