Epix Makes a Deal with Dish, Expects to Gain Wider Coverage

In order to captivate more consumers, Epix, the movie channel, has reported of signing a deal with the Dish Network Corporation which will enable Epix to have the country wide distribution in the United States.

It will enhance its customer base to 14 million additional customers in United States. Epix previous deals have been with Verizon, Cox, Mediacom and Charter and it is yet to explore opportunities with Comcast and DirecTV which are the largest providers of TV services in the United States.

The terms and conditions of deal were not disclosed. Epix was launched by Lions Gate, Paramount and MGM in order to gain competitive advantage and to resist in the market after a cut down in the fee were introduced by CBS Corporation.

No terms of Epix's deal with Dish were disclosed but it has been reported that it is the biggest deal for Epix, so far.

David Joyce, an analyst at Miller Tabak & Co. in New York said, "It will still take more distribution and viewers subscribing to the premium movie tier for a couple of years before breakeven".
