Cisco Acquires Tandberg, Bid Price is $19 billion

Cisco has successfully closed its deal with Tandberg. The company was struggling hard in order to decide the true value for the Video Acquisition.

The various product lines of Tandberg would be the part of Cisco's telepresence group and Fredrick Halvorsen, Tandberg CEO would take his responsibilities of Senior Vice President of the Telepresence Technology Group.

It has been reported that the new unit will concentrate on back-end infrastructure, cloud services and endpoints. The new unit will be running under the leadership of Cisco Senior Vice President Marthin De Beer, the experienced executive of the company

Cisco said, "It had made the acquisition for 19 billion kroner, equivalent to about $3.3 billion at the time the deal closed".

It has been stated that it was hard to strike the deal but now it has managed to happen. The last offer which was made by Cisco amounted to US$3 billion for Tandberg but it was not accepted pleasantly by the owners.

Few of the investment companies also commented that Cisco has not valued Tandberg rightly and need to evaluate it again. Later on, Cisco increased its bid to 19 billion, to which the owners of Tandberg agreed.
