Cisco Systems Acquires Norway Based Tanberg

It has been revealed by Cisco Systems, which is a networking and communication solutions provider, that the company has the acquired the Norway based video communication technology vendor Tandberg. The transaction is now complete.

It is revealed that now since the deal has come to a close, Cisco will direct its attention to enlarge its product portfolio by amalgamating it with that of Tandberg.

It has been revealed that the company’s specialty is in the video conferencing technology sector. This will permit Cisco to sap the profitable video based communications market.

Remarking on the closing of the £2.1 billion purchase deal, Marthin De Beer Cisco's Senior Vice President for Emerging Technology Group, stated, “With the Tandberg product line now available as part of our portfolio through an even wider range of partners, we can offer a far broader number of products for increased interoperability between companies using this technology”.

The company reported that it has plans to bring together its telepresence enterprise collaboration system and Tandberg's end-point products. This will allow the company to provide its customers with a wide range of communication solutions. This will not only boost the output of the employees, but also, greatly develop inter-operability among companies.
