BroadSoft buys Synlantro System for undisclosed amount

BroadSoft, a provider of voice-over-Internet-Protocol applications for cable and telecommunications providers, has acquired privately held Sylantro Systems, a competing VoIP systems vendor.

However, the terms of the deal were not disclosed by the company.

BroadSoft believes that the deal extends development and coverage operations centers to include facilities in Montreal, Dallas, Bangalore, Sydney, Belfast, and Gaithersburg, Md.

BroadSoft provides VoIP applications to eight of the top 10 and 14 of the top 25 largest carriers worldwide, including Cox Communications, Verizon Communications, Sprint, Telstra, SingTel and Korea Telecom.

While, California-based Sylantro Systems Corporation designs, develops, and markets multiplay application feature server to enable hosted IP communication services on fixed, mobile, and cable networks.
