In an interesting new development, Mercedes has taken the wraps off a new "Shooting Break" concept, which is in part coupé and in part estate, but on the whole, very stylish.
The four door coupé with CLS has been commercialized by Mercedes, and now it seems like the company is determined to repeat the move with a coupé-estate crossover. The latest Shooting Break has come as the second concept by the German manufacturer of luxury cars, after the Fascination concept of 2008.
The Shooting Break has clearly been influenced by the CLS and the company has added various touches to it, which customers will be expecting to see on all future Mercedes models. Also, the latest offering represents the debut of a brand new V6 petrol engine.
In addition to the unique swooping estate roofline and an exterior styling highlights on the Shooting Break, the range includes a new "soft nose" design which seems to have been directly influenced by the SLS AMG supercar.
The most striking feature, however, are the full-LED dynamic headlights. A total of 71 LEDs have been used in all.
''The Shooting Break concept car is based on the great tradition of a stylish, cultivated sportiness which has always characterized the great Mercedes Coupés, and it takes this unique legacy an exciting step further", said Professor Gorden Wagener, Chief Designer at Mercedes.
