LG’s wristwatch-style phone to debut at CES

The LG GD910, likely to make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, is a wristwatch-style, Wi-Fi-enabled phone! Though LG is exhibiting it as the first 3G HSDPA wristwatch phone, SMS Technology - which is an Australian company - had, earlier in the year, launched the M300 cellphone watch priced at $300.

According to LG's web site, the wristwatch-sized phone is 0.56 inches thick, and it sports a 1.43-inch wide touch-screen. Other features of this phone which arouse instantaneous interest include - a built-in speaker for text-to-speech feature, an MP3 player, Bluetooth compatibility, and a camera which can be used for videoconferencing.

It is also being reported that the phone is waterproof, thereby making it useful for underwater videoconferencing!

The South Korean electronics giant has, no doubt, has included a surprisingly enthralling range of features combined in a thin, modernized package. However, the company has not yet disclosed the price of this seemingly interesting wristwatch phone.

The phone, with a somewhat commonplace name LG-GD910, will initially be available for sale in the European and Korean markets.
