Peugeot Getting Back to Profits: European Economy Getting Better?
Peugeot Getting Back to Profits: European Economy Getting Better?

While we already know that things are not looking too good for the Eurozone and its various economies, there is something else that needs to be considered - the companies are steadily getting better, in terms of sales, profits market presence. And the latest company to prove this has been the very popular French car maker PSA Peugeot Citroën, which recently raised its earnings forecast for the year's first half.

The development has come after the first quarter revenue of the firm hiked by 27.5%, which means that things have been going good for Peugeot for quite some time now!

For the first three months of 2010, the company posted a revenue of 13,986 Euros, which is a significant increase when compared to last year's revenue of 10,973 Euros.

Peugeot is now expecting to post "significant recurring operating income for first-half 2010, including a positive contribution from the Automotive Division".

"I am very confident that our sales and marketing momentum and the deployment of the performance plan will enable the group to limit the impact of a business environment that risks being difficult in Europe in the second half", Chairman of the company's Managing Board Philippe Varin said.

The positive results of Peugeot and the fact that it is expecting even better results in future can be taken as a definite sign of an improving European economy. In addition, it can also be taken as an improving world economy, as the demand is rising as well.

The Greek debt situation and the disturbing economy of Spain had lately managed to raise quite some doubts over how Europe would fare in times which are still tough. Even though the recession is over, the hurt is still lingering, and has actually managed to linger longer than expected.

But it looks like things might just be alright in the end. The improvement, let's just hope, is not limited to the auto sector and will spill over to the other industries as well.
