Newfoundland and Labrador's Liberal opposition put blame on Prime Minister, Danny William’s decision, on Wednesday, regarding giving an ultimatum to physicians of ‘take it or leave it’ at the bargaining table.
The county delivered a counter-proposal, late on Tuesday to the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association, which commenced discussion for more than one year in the past, on the subject of a new agreement that would cover no less than 1,100 physicians.
Finance Minister, Tom Marshall, clarified to all by saying that the offer given by the Government does not mean that this is something that can be cherry picked by an individual.
Rob Ritter, Executive Director of the NLMA, stated that the letter from the Government does not provide ample answers, rather it raises more questions, and that the association will require a lot more transparency before it can give its consent to anything.
For the second day consecutively, Prime Minister, Danny Williams, condemned the management of the NLMA in the legislature, although the Prime Minister, who sounded fiery with the kind of language he used on Tuesday adopted a less provoking tone on Wednesday.
