Windows XP Computers Whacked after McAfee’s Antivirus Software Fails

McAfee's extensively used antivirus software program failed dramatically on Wednesday, which caused tens of thousands of Windows XP PCs to collapse or frequently reboot.

A buggy update that the firm launched in the early hours of the day turned the software's terrifying resistance powers against malicious software inward, weak, which prompted it to hit a very important section of Microsoft Windows. The update was offered to business customers for almost four hours before the distribution was brought to a halt.

The University of Michigan's medical school stated that 8,000 of its 25,000 PCs had been affected with the buggy update system.

Police in Lexington, Ky., stated that it had to record reports in writing and had to turn off their patrol car workstations as a safety measure.

Some prisons had to cancel visiting appointments, and Rhode Island hospitals turned away non-trauma patients at emergency care rooms and also delayed some scheduled surgical operations.

Intel was as well knocked by McAfee's failed update system and all Intel's PCs inside the United States ran on McAfee. Many had been affected but it is not known that how many or whether it impacted the company's factory outlets.
