Heart of Borneo Full of Unique Creatures which Need to be Conserved: WWF report

Bizarre new species have been disclosed by WWF that include lung less frog, half a meter long stick insect plus a 'ninja' slug. WWF revealed these species as it was celebrating an agreement of conserving wildlife on Borneo Island.

These unique features were discovered by conservationists. The agreement to conserve such creatures is a pact between the Governments of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia. An effort is being made to conserve and safeguard 220,000 sq km of rainforest on that island.

This agreement was made functional in 2007 and since that time, about 123 new species have been found in 'Heart of Borneo', which is the protected area.

According to the conservationist, these weird creatures have been detected in the stretch of "irreplaceable" rainforest that is located in the borders of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei on Borneo.

The area is also crowned with having some other wonderful creatures like orangutans, rhinoceros, clouded leopards and pygmy elephants.

The newly discovered species of the creatures in the area have been cited in a report on remote area of dense, tropical rainforest by World Wildlife Fund.
