To raise funds to fight against cancer, staff members Miss Smith and her colleague Jenni Keene shaved their heads to show their support for the Leukemia and Blood Foundation.
The Nelson store so far has been able to raise approximately $500 to help the foundation and to support the cause. The Leukemia and Blood Foundation has started with the "Shave for a Cure" campaign in order to support many families suffering with the blood related diseases.
According to the official of the Foundation, it is a fun and easy way to spread awareness and help raise funds.
House of Travel Public Relations Manager Jo Wedlock said, "Some of the team at House of Travel has had their lives affected by blood cancers so we wanted to do something that raised money to support this great cause".
Though not many people are aware about the Leukemia and Blood Foundation but they continue to provide services and support to people which costs around $1000 per day. They also provide charity money for important researches to combat blood related diseases and help spreading awareness about the disease.
