Guess who are the latest well-known victims of Bernie Madoff's $50-billion Ponzi scheme? None other than actors Kevin Bacon and his Golden Globe-nominated actress wife, Kyra Sedgwick!
Tuesday, Allen Eichorn, Bacon's representative confirmed to New York magazine that both the actors had invested with Madoff. However, refusing to comment any further, Eichorn did ask people not to speculate or rely too much on hearsay about reports that the two had lost everything, except for the land they own and their checking accounts.
Though, not much is known about the size of their investments in Madoff's scheme, according to TV Guide, currently, Sedgwick, the highest paid female star on cable TV, earns $275,000 per episode of TNT's 'The Closer', while Bacon's critical hit 'Frost / Nixon' is being screened in theatres, nationwide.
Other Hollywood elite hit by the fraudulent money manager, include Steven Spielberg's Wunderkinder Foundation, Eric Roth, screenwriter of 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', and DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg, who according to Wall Street Journal reports, has lost 'millions'.
