It has been stated by Alistair Darling, the Chancellor, that there is no stoppage to the job losses at the public sector. The economy is showing an upward trend and which means that job transfers are likely to take place just as a precautionary measure.
Many of the jobs will be transferred to the private sector. He further added that the level of job cuts and expenditure cuts in the Government departments will be based on the affordability of the country.
The decision to cut the expenditure in to half have been decided rightly in favor of the economic recovery. Since last 10 years, the number of job cuts has amounted to 30,000 from the Department of Work and Pensions and this made an easy availability of people for the private jobs.
This trend is just to obtain a balance between the public sector and the private sector, which could not be avoided. He was also questioned on the budget cuts which could be faced by the non-protected departments, he said, ''The amount of money that we spend on public services will depend on the estimate we make on how much we think the country can afford over the three years from April next year".
Every step is taken by considering the recovery which is still fragile and not robust.
