27% Rise in Home Sales, Sign of the Economy Turning

It has been reported that nearly after a four month decline in the sales of homes, there has been a rise in sales by 27% in the previous month.

"This is all great news, and we expect that you'll see a further gain in new home sales going forward as trade up buyers are sort of freed up by these first time buyers coming in and purchasing their homes so they can move up to the new home sales," said National Association of Realtors economist Danielle Hale.

It has been reported that the increase in sales can be attributed to two reasons. One is the pleasant weather. The second and major reason for this sudden surge is the attempt of new home buyers to acquire property before their tax credit expires. It is reported that the tax credit is due to end by the closing of this month.

Though there is speculation over the exact impact of the expiring tax credit on this increase, yet the generic feeling is one of elation, since everyone feels that the numbers are moving towards the right path.

Experts are also not so sure how long this increase will last. They see this increase in sales as a small sign of the resurrection of the economy.

It is known that the increase in purchasing power of the citizens is a sure sign of a rising economy. Such signs should be celebrated, since they have been much awaited. The global economic recession has rendered many jobless and homeless. There has been growing unrest among the people and officials in the higher echelons have been helpless in coping with the wide ranging effects of the global downturn.

However, these statistics seem to shine a light on a dark city. There is hope now, more than ever before, that the clouds of recession are slowly but surely letting up.
