Poor Health Care Should be Fixed Soon

Demographer David Foot, an expert on health planning has alarmed that there is still a scope of improving the deteriorating health care system and that it should be fixed within time before the boomer generation ages and elevates the demand for health services even more.

Speaking in the Quebec Medical Association convention in Boucherville, David said that there still is time of about 10 years to mend every weak wall ahead of the situation where first boomers reach the age of 80 in probably 15 years.

Foot also recommended that the things that need to be considered seriously include knowing which disease can prove harmful for an average person over a life cycle.

Elaborating on the concept, Foot said that when a person reaches 50, he is gripped by disorders like high blood pressure, arthritis and diabetes, by the time one reaches 60, it's cancer, gradually during 70’s stroke or heart attacks become common among older people and that if anyone manages to cross 70’s he has disease like Alzheimer's disease, pneumonia or accidental falls waiting for them.

Foot therefore focused on the need of a pre-planned strategy for next decade regarding setting up of clinics and the specialties to be provided.
