In a drive of fostering the ties with the Muslim countries and to impart a new start for the rotten US-Muslim relationship, the U. S. President Barack Obama, is organizing a two-day entrepreneurship Summit that will intend to portray America as friendly nation that will support the business and social entrepreneurship in Muslim countries.
This concern for the Muslim countries was displayed by the President in a speech at the Cairo, Egypt, in June, where Obama highlighted the value of "education and innovation" and he had also talked about initiating "a new corps of business" as a part of new beginning for the relationship between two.
The statement informing about the Summit reads, "Through this Summit, the United States seeks both to join existing efforts and inspire new efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation".
This Summit will be a global highlight as along with Obama, top shots that will be giving their remarks include Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Another fact that makes the Summit important is the participation of about 40 countries.
The summit will aim at creating more and more business opportunities as the entrepreneurs will take part in the two-day networking summit. Other things that will probably be talked in the Summit include improving access to capital, energizing more young people and improving the role of Arab businesswomen.
The administration is calling the summit a unique gathering that will bring closer the Muslim civil society and the U. S. it is noteworthy that the administration is also in partnership with the Organization of the Islamic Conference as it wants to eradicate polio and also cut down on references to Islamic extremism.
These efforts mean to mend the relation that received a serious blow during the time of former President George. W. Bush's reign. Let us see what the summit does to the relationship of the superpower and the Muslim majority countries.
