Laugh, To Be Feel Fit: New Study

A new study establishes, that laughing has the same effects upon the body, that gym workout has.

Health researchers say that "Laughercise" has the ability, to enhance mood, lower the levels of stress hormones, boost the immunization system and lower blood pressure levels of bad cholesterol.

Just the way, physical exercise stimulates our appetite levels, laughter also helps, in improving our appetite.

Laughercise simply means, bursting into laughter that will have similar effects on the body as a workout in a gym.

Californian scientist, Dr. Lee Berk stated that the effects of laughter imitated those of monotonous exercise.

Volunteers were shown two 20 minutes videos, with one sad and one humorous. A gap of one week had been kept in between, so that, the effects did not overlap.

Not much difference was seen when volunteers saw the sad video, however, after watching the humorous video, alterations were seen in the levels of blood pressure for the better.

A lot of elderly people have been seen distressed, which in turn reduces their appetite. People such as these, can benefit, by practicing `Laughercise', on a daily basis.
