It is said that gay men are often the target of the conversation when it comes to the topic of STDs and unprotected anal sex.

However, a latest study by the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene puts forward that straight people could learn a thing or two about defense from gay men.

It has been found that over 100,000 women in NYC have anal sex every year.

According to data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention unguarded anal sex, can be a lot risky than other sexual behavior. And the chances of getting HIV for an amenable partner involving in sex with someone with HIV is about five-fold for anal sex, than vaginal sex.

However, only 23% of women use condoms while engaging in anal sex, when matched up to 61% of gay men. Undoubtedly, a lot of women are unaware as to how significant it is to use condoms and get themselves tested.

Sex education, usually centers on pregnancy and STD transmission during vaginal intercourse, no attention is paid to threats linked with anal sex.

It has been said that, time has arrived for sex-education programs to alter and give sufficient teaching so people can be alert of the dangers they take, and have safer sex.
