Subscription-based music service, Rhapsody, on Monday morning launched a new edition of its iPhone app that offers offline playback, letting you to play playlists, even if there is no Internet connection.
Subscription service Spotify has an iPhone app, with offline playback, however it is still available in Europe only.
MOG has not got its iPhone app out the door so far, and Thumbplay, whose offline playback feature is a big selling point for the service, is obtainable only on the BlackBerry.
The Rhapsody app is free of charge, but you'll need to subscribe to it, which costs $10 per month for one tool or $15 per month for up to three.
Create one or more Rhapsody playlists, and then download them to your handset over a 3G or wireless connection. Once they're on your handset, you can play them anywhere.
The only warning is that, it works only with playlists, and not individual songs or albums. So if you desire to save your new preferred album for offline play, you'll have to convert it into a playlist first and then can listen to the songs, downloaded.
