Brisbane Doctors Develop Advanced Artificial Heart

It was seen lately that the doctors in Brisbane have build up the world's most advanced artificial heart. This new heart makes the people happy who are for a new transplant.

The small pump device that is fitted in the artificial heart duplicates both sides of the heart and is considered innovatory.

It was seen that the development was directed by Dr. John Fraser, from the Prince Charles Hospital in Chermside. Whereas, yesterday it was noticed that the Federal Government funded $70,000 to help him in commercializing the product.

It was told by the Heart Foundation that more than 100 people were waiting for transplants who were suffering from a serious heart failure. They also said that the patients who were over 65 years of age often needed a heart transplant.

The artificial heart is fixed inside the body and attached to the natural heart which is present in the body. The artificial heart is as big as the size of a fist.

It was also seen that with the help of this artificial heart an extra 10 years could be added to the lives of recipients and also improved the quality of their life. The transplant also reduces shortness of breath, tiredness and swelling.
