Controversial messages about Islam and President Obama posted by a pastor on a local church marquee are offensive, some residents of a Georgia town have said.

WGCL-TV, Atlanta, reported on Wednesday that one recent posting in front of the Faith Baptist Church in Primrose, Ga., read "Islam will take you to Hell."

WGCL also said that another message read, "Every time Obama wins, America loses, pray for our perverted president."

He put the messages there because they are his beliefs and he wants the attention, Pastor Billy Ball, author of the messages, says. He said that he doesn't worry about offending people.

Ball said, "I think there are three categories of people in America right now that get a break, the homosexuals … the Nation of Islam and the illegal Mexicans."

Mohammad Ashfakul Monir, the Muslim owner of a gas station across the street from the church, said he finds the sign offensive.

He dreads passing the sign with his wife and children on the way to their church, just down the block from Faith Baptist, Travis Johnson says.

Johnson said, "Reading that every Sunday, especially about our country and our president, it's just, you know, I wish there was another route I can take." (With Inputs from Agencies)
