It has been reported that an Oral Health Policy is anticipated to be presented before the Cabinet for approval.

Dominica has united with the world to observe Oral Health Week. The intention behind this is to raise and impart awareness on the issue of oral health and to show how oral diseases can be prevented.

According to the Health Minister, Timothy a number of events will be held this week, which will offer the public an opportunity to gain knowledge about treatment options available at various health centers around the country.

Timothy evinced that the over the span of many years, the Government has put in a significant amount of money in dental health. The Government has made all attempts to ascertain that the community received good oral health care.

Dr. Lee Soon Boon, a dental practitioner for 21 years, is concerned states, "Cavities or dental caries and gingivitis are prevalent not just among the young but in adults and the older people as well. Many people don't realize oral health is an integral part of one's overall health".
