Celebs Help to Spread Word About Eating Disorders

This appears to be a huge eating-disorder news day.

Two famous personalities have declared plans for main projects relating to eating disorders, and one of those celebs is Oprah Winfrey.

Hollywood Reporter says that Winfrey's cable network, OWN, will screen a sequence titled Inside Rehab, situated within an eating-disorders treatment facility.

It said, "The eight-episode series will document a group of patients as they undergo a 42-day recovery program. The announcement comes a day after E! declared an eating-disorder miniseries, What's Eating You?, that will air this fall and tackle common as well as bizarre eating problems".

Meanwhile, Minnesota Senator Al Franken, together with co-supporters, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (also of Minnesota), and Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, have introduced the Federal Response to Eliminate Eating Disorders (FREED) Act.

The bill would need the Federal Government to increase exploration into prevention and cure of eating disorders; enhance the training and education of health care suppliers and mentors on eating disorders; perk up national supervision and data compilation on the commonness of eating disorders; take measures to avoid eating disorders by developing evidence-based prevention curriculums; and give supplementary avenues for efficient and reasonable treatment of eating disorders.

It seems that "evidence-based prevention programs" looks like a nice idea, since once you begin, it's quite difficult to discontinue.
