In the latest version of the remake of the famous 1984 movie, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" it does not seem the movie will do justice to the famous old franchise. Most of the movie's reviews are far from positive and reviewers feel that the current movie has lost its old charm and the performance of its lead character, Freddy also leaves a lot to be desired.
The latest release which is the ninth release of the famous horror movie series has failed to impress both the critics, as well as viewers. It is being felt that the new Freddy, Jackie Earle Haley has failed to impress with his performance.
The horror series owed much of its cult- like following to its earlier leading hero, Robert Englund, who enthralled audiences with his performance.
The latest episode is after the disastrous 2003's "Freddy vs. Jason". Many viewers do not like the visual imagery of the movie and feel it is not scary anymore. The direction has also come for a lot of criticism. The support also failed to impress the critics along with the general viewers.
Some have gone so far as to question the relevance of this movie and feel that the franchise should have been discontinued after the disastrous 2003 episode.
