College Student Found Guilty for Hacking Into Yahoo Account

On Friday, David C. Kernel a 22-year-old college student was found guilty by the Tennessee jury. He had hacked into the Yahoo account of Sarah Palin, former Alaskan governor.

David Kernel who is the son of a Tennessee Democratic state representative, Mike Kennel was charged illegal access to a computer and barrier of justice.

Because of this crime Kernel could be sentenced to one year in prison with $100,000 fine or 20 years in prison with $250,000 fine.

It was seen that all the records were erased by Kernel, which could prove his involvement in the hacking.

Wade Davies, his attorney told with the jury that it was just a practical joke. According to the prosecutors, Kernel's main purpose was to spoil Palin's campaign.

Palin said that she and her family were thankful to the jury for issuing a justified decision.

The reports showed that Palin used her Yahoo account to send her official business mails. Kernell was able to get into her account by guessing the answer to Palin's security questions.

"The dumb 22-year-old kid who broke into Sarah Palin's Yahoo e-mail account by guessing the answer to her security question has been convicted of two of the four charges Palin pressed against him", wrote blogger Juli Weiner.
