Canada Celebrates McHappy Day

McHappy Day is going to be celebrated in Canada on May 5. This event would be a vast event which raised money for charities throughout the country. On the sale of Big Mac, happy meal, and McMuffin $ 1 would be donated to the charity.

"To be a part of McHappy Day at McDonald's in Kamloops and Merritt is something that the Foundation is proud of. McHappy Day contributes to the healthcare of children at Royal Inland Hospital and has done so since 2007 with a total of over $85,000", says Veronica Carroll, Royal Inland Hospital Foundation Executive Officer.

It was informed that in Cranbrook, the money that would be raised would be divided in two very good causes. One would be the Salvation Army School lunch program and Ronald McDonald House.

The main program of the Salvation Army is to give children lunches that go to school without a lunch whereas Ronald McDonald House offers a place for families to stay while their children were at Children's Hospital.

David Kaiser, Manager of McDonalds Cranbrook said that many families from the East Kootenays used it and according to them it was a good cause.
