New reports claim that just 5 minutes out in the green not only improves your physical and mental health, but boosts up your self-esteem to higher levels.
A study conducted by Jo Barton and Jules Pretty of the University Of Essex, UK claims that just five minutes of exercise in the green environment benefited all types of people and improved their mood.
After analyzing the data of 1,252 people, taken from ten earlier British studies and comprising of different age groups, genders and mental health, the researchers concluded that the new way for a healthier life is to `Go Green'.
The reports claim that exercises like walking, gardening, cycling, farming or playing outside with the children and pets; if done in the green environment can boost mental and physical heath to greater standards.
The study published in the American Chemical Society's Environmental Science & Technology journal states- though all benefit from exercising in the green but the most notable health changes occur in young people and mentally handicapped people.
In the light of such discoveries, researches are encouraging people to embrace green activities so all can enjoy greener lifestyles.
