Environmental experts feel that Canadian Government is not making enough investment in the development of renewable services. As a result of that the country is annually losing out on 66,000 jobs. It has argued that Canadian Government needs to learn from US where increasing investment in this sector are helping increase jobs and save environment as well.
The study stresses that Canada needs to invest around $11.5 billion every year in developing alternate energy sources. Figures reveal that for every million dollar invested in developing clean energy generates around 16 direct and indirect jobs.
Environmental experts feel that the Government needs to a lot more to develop clean energy and help save environment in the country. They feel that a lot of investment is needed in wind energy and home energy retrofit incentive initiatives.
Advocates of this report maintain that a lot more needs to be done for curbing pollution levels and developing regulations aimed to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.
It argued that the clean energy sector has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade and has the potential to become the third biggest industrial sector in the world after electronics and automotive products.
Sources in the Government argue that policy decisions cannot change rapidly and Government is willing to work with the industry to increase environment conservation across the country.
