They may have broken up after 9-months of dating, but while confirming their break-up, Paris Hilton, 27 says she and Benji Madden, 29 continue to remain friends, very close friends.
In an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show on Friday, Hilton told Ryan that Benji is not only amazing, he also happens to be her best friend. According to Paris, Benji is not only incredible person, he has also been wonderful to her, very loyal, which is why they will always be very close, and whatever the future holds, she still loves him.
Citing busy work schedules and loads of travel for their split-up, Paris told Seacrest that both she and Benji had been working too hard and all reports about her dumping Benji are untrue and the decision was mutual that of two consenting adults. While, they may have decided to break-up, however, Paris says they are only taking a break and are still very close and really good friends.
As far as cheating on Benji with ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos recently, Hilton called it just a chance encounter and a 'quick conversation' between old friends. However, though Paris told Seacreast, Madden, who she talked to and saw every day, was doing great, it was rather obvious Paris seemed in very low spirits, telling Seacrest that dating other people 'is the last thing on my mind.' Which seems true, as the former Simple Life star and Queen of the Nightlife, has certainly not been partying up a storm.
According to any eyewitness, a distraught and lonely looking Hilton had a low key dinner before making an appearance at Hollywood's Crown Bar, on Wednesday when news of her break-up with Madden was confirmed. Paris seems to have taken the break-up hard and spent most of the night talking and texting on her phone, completely unlike 'her usual prim and proper self'.
