Travis Barker Sues Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation and Goodyear Tire

Travis BarkerBlink 182 drummer Travis Barker and the mother of his bodyguard who died in the September South Carolina plane crash, has filed a suit for monetary damages against Canadian Aerospace conglomerate and maker of the Learjet - Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation - jet charter firm and Goodyear Tire and Rubber in L. A. County Superior Court.

According to their lawsuit, Travis and Thelma Martin claim: 'one or more of the tires failed leaving tire debris and portions of airplane components along the 8,600 foot runway', leading the Learjet to crash. Citing pilot negligency to abort take-off, defective 'landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts' which were not airworthy, the suit claims played a substantial part in causing the plane crash, which left two people dead and a severely injured Barker.

A federal inquiry into the plane crash and a sound on the cockpit voice recorder confirms a blown tire may have contributed to the crash.

Barker is suing for: "pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement and pre-impact fear of death and burning".

However, a representative of Clay Lacy, one of the firms cited in the lawsuit told TMZ that they cannot be held responsible, as they only helped in chartering and booking the plane.
