It was noticed that the post of the President of World Medical Association was not the only thing that embarrassed Dr. Ketan Desai, Chief of Medical Council of India.
It has been informed by the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh that Dr. Desai was being closely monitored and a strict action could be taken against him.
Dr. Kunal Saha, President of People for Better Treatment notified that the membership of the Royal College of Surgeons could be lost by Dr. Desai.
Dr. David Tolley, President of the Royal College of Surgeons wrote a letter to Dr. Saha in which he said that the College was aware of Dr. Desai and the matter was being dealt by a process in the College.
"This is to draw your kind attention to a recent incidence that has rocked the medical community in India which in a way is also related to your esteemed College. Dr. Ketan Desai was arrested on April 23 for corruption while taking bribe of Rs 2 crore from a private medical college allegedly in exchange of granting MCI's recognition", wrote Dr. Saha in a letter to Dr. Tolley.
It was also noted that apart from being a surgeon Dr. Desai was also a member of the College. Dr. Saha a requested that Dr. Desai should be inspected and suspended from the Royal College of Surgeons.
