PC World's most recent wireless performance experiment has put AT&T in front of the crowd with average download speeds of 1410 kilobits/sec. Verizon came in last with an average download speed of 877 kbps.
However, according to a new study by ChangeWave Research which is an independent group, consumers are still not happy.
The March survey not only puts AT&T last amongst the top four U. S. carriers in percent of calls dropped, but also in customer discontent.
A whole of 4,040 U. S. and Canadian customers were questioned how many dropped calls they'd experienced over the last three months. AT&T customers reported that the biggest percentage of dropped calls was (4.5%), while Verizon consumers witnessed the minimum percentage (1.5%).
And Sprint/Nextel (2.4%) and T-Mobile (2.8%) came second and third.
According to ChangeWave, Verizon's slid call percentage was the carrier's best showing ever in a ChangeWave survey. Conversely, AT&T's plummeted call percentage was its worst.
The ChangeWave poll also surveyed consumers on overall satisfaction and Verizon was the apparent leader: 49% of Big Red customers said that they were "Very Satisfied" with the service. Sprint/Nextel took the second spot (35%), while T-Mobile (23%) and AT&T (23%) tied for last position.
