Alien calls may impose threat to our lives
Alien calls may impose threat to our lives

One of the proved discoveries says that, life, and even intelligence, is perhaps quite common in the cosmos. But the second big discovery says that, light-speed or faster-than-light travel may also be possible. If this proves to be true, than we must deem ourselves under a peril, as per the scientists!

Scientists say the messages should not be beamed in the blithe assumption that anybody in the other planets will be benign and friendly. A SETI ('Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence') might take us the call of attention about a much more technically advanced civilization in existence!

An alien civilization, whose intentions are completely unknown, can actually be provoked by such SETI calls from Earth. This issue has now turned up more urgent as 400 planets have recently been discovered around our system, augmenting more chances of civilizations in and around us. Just a simple message by our scientists of "here we are" can be troublesome for our planet!

Yet, if there are no rays faster than that of light, then no motive to engage in interstellar raids or conquest can be successful form the other planets.

Recently, in 2008, a message was sent to a merely 20 light years away Gliese 581 system, that has two planets in its "habitual zone". This high-powered message will reach the planet by 2029, as expected.

But such extraterrestrials may pose a threat to a life on Earth, unknowingly.
