Before actually the president elect Barack Obama takes the reigns of the country, he is looking to get his daughters settled in an appropriate school. The family will check in a hotel near the White House before they actually shift to their residence. They will stay in the historic Hay-Adams Hotel.
The Obamas had to plan their move to Washington that daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, could begin classes on Monday at the private Sidwell Friends School.
The admission of the daughters is one of the tasks in the agenda. On Tuesday the president elect would attend the swearing-in ceremony of a new Congress. This would be a major move as Obama hopes it would expedite to pass the economic recovery package he wants to sign soon after taking office.
On Wednesday, he would be with President Bush where President has scheduled a White House lunch for Obama and the former presidents.
Ever since he had won the elections, Obama had avoided coming to Washington. Most of his time had been spent during the transition in his Chicago hometown, and on holiday in Hawaii since Dec. 20. Last time he visited the city was on Nov 10 when he met President Bush at the White House.
