It was seen lately that the authorities have established a link between Amber Tandoor and food poisoning after an incident was reported last month, in Woodlands Community Club.
It was told by the Ministry of Health and the National Environment Agency that after the inspection of the joint was done they found quite a few housekeeping faults. They reported that a freezer door had a loose hinge and there was a crack on a refrigerator glass door.
It was reported by MediaCorp that a hammer was also located inside the freezer along with ice cubes that were used for drinks. After looking at all this they were fined $300 and were given four demerit points for the caterer. It was also informed that if 12 or more demerit points were acquired by the caterer, their license was suspended.
"It is also probable that lapses in personal and food hygiene practices led to some contamination in the process from the caterer's kitchen to the community centre", said MOH and NEA.
After looking at the stool samples of the people who were affected, it didn’t get clear what causes poisoning.
It was also noted that on April 17, a celebratory event was arranged by the Woodlands CC Indian Activity Executive Committee for 600 people.
Approximately 45 attendees experienced pains in the stomach and vomiting after they ate the pre-packed vegetarian food. Out of those 36 of them were children.
