The main tendency of the white-coat effect is blood pressure and anxiety. It is the recent disease found in most of the people in US. This is another version of Doctors Phobia. Blood Pressure of the patient rises rapidly when doctor examines him. The stress level also increases amazingly. The effect is because of patients becoming worried by being in a doctor's surgical treatment or a sickbay.

According to an UK specialist, high blood pressure affects approximately 40% of matured persons in UK and it has been most important risk factor for a heart stroke, heart malfunction, kidney sickness and stroke.

In the year 2001, there were around 90 million cases for blood pressure. The BP controlling medicine was issued by the NHS which had cost of £840 million.

As per the scientist about 8,500 patients were monitored and diagnosed at 11 blood pressure centers in the region of Australia. They analyzed ambulatory blood pressure data along with data taken by medical practitioners and have found out that there may be variation in so far as 29 units between the readings of the doctor and the nurse. That means the doctor effect is also enhancing blood pressure.
