On Thursday a slide in fuel prices was seen that caught a break at Newfoundland and Labrador's gas pumps.
It was ordered by the Public Utilities Board to drop at least 4.6 cents per liter for all types of gasoline. It was noted that in some geographic areas the drop in the price was 4.7 cents per liter because of the taxes.
It was informed that the changes would come after several weeks of small increases in the price of gas. Last week a drop in oil prices was seen.
According to the change, the maximum price of a liter of self-serve unleaded gas on the Avalon Peninsula was $1.103. It may be charged less by the retailers.
It was noticed that PUB had ordered a drop in diesel of 3.4 cents per liter or 3.7 cents per liter. The price depended on the roundup of taxes.
The prices of Furnace oil and stove oil fell by 3.17 cents per liter and the price of propane increased by a penny per liter.
All the maximum prices for all regulated petroleum products in all areas of the province were set by PUB, except the places where maximum price adjustments had been delayed for the winter months.
On Thursday, May 20 the next scheduled price would take place.
